Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
Removal Van Marylebone is committed to conducting all aspects of its business in an ethical and responsible manner. This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and exploitation in our operations and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to respect human rights and to promote fair and safe working conditions.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Removal Van Marylebone provides professional removal, relocation and associated logistics services. Our activities rely on a range of suppliers, including vehicle and equipment providers, facilities and maintenance contractors, packaging material manufacturers, and labour agencies. We understand that risks of modern slavery can exist at different tiers of these supply chains, particularly where work is low paid, temporary, subcontracted or outsourced.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
We operate a strict zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking. This applies to everyone who works for or with Removal Van Marylebone, including employees, agency workers, contractors, and suppliers. We do not tolerate any practice that involves forced, bonded or compulsory labour, child labour that contravenes applicable law, human trafficking, deceptive recruitment, retention of identity documents, or any abuse or intimidation that undermines a person’s free choice to work.
All existing and prospective suppliers are expected to share this commitment. We require them to comply with all relevant labour, employment and human rights legislation in the jurisdictions where they operate and to maintain systems that prevent and detect modern slavery within their own operations and supply chains.
Due Diligence and Supplier Audits
We are progressively strengthening our due diligence processes to identify and manage modern slavery risks. This includes assessing suppliers based on the nature of the services they provide, the geographic locations in which they operate, and the use of subcontracted or temporary labour. Higher-risk suppliers may be subject to enhanced screening and monitoring.
Our supplier management process includes the right to conduct audits and site visits, either directly or through qualified third parties, where proportionate and appropriate. Through these audits we may review working conditions, recruitment practices, wage and hour records, and grievance mechanisms. Where we identify concerns, we expect prompt corrective action plans and reserve the right to suspend or terminate relationships with suppliers who fail to address serious or repeated issues.
Training and Awareness
We aim to build awareness of modern slavery risks among our people, particularly those involved in procurement, supplier management and operations. Training focuses on recognising warning signs of exploitation, understanding our policies, and knowing how to raise concerns. We encourage an open culture in which questions and concerns about labour practices can be raised without fear of retaliation.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Removal Van Marylebone encourages employees, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to report any suspicions or evidence of modern slavery or human trafficking connected to our business. Concerns can be raised through internal line management channels or through our whistleblowing arrangements, where they will be treated seriously, sensitively and, where possible, confidentially.
We will investigate all credible reports promptly and impartially. Where appropriate, we will work with relevant authorities and specialist organisations. We do not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith, even if it is not substantiated following investigation.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that addressing modern slavery is an ongoing process that requires continual improvement. We regularly review our policies, risk assessments, supplier requirements and training materials to strengthen our approach. Particular attention is given to evolving legal requirements, best practice guidance and lessons learned from audits or investigations.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is reviewed at least annually by the leadership of Removal Van Marylebone to ensure it remains accurate, effective and reflective of our operations. Where necessary, we update our procedures and communicate changes to relevant stakeholders. By maintaining a robust and transparent approach, we seek to protect vulnerable workers and support ethical practices throughout our business and supply chains.
